A Community Forum on Policing in Schools
Our kids are more likely to see police than guidance counselors (CONF) at school. Police are stationed in most Minnesota high schools and in 1 out of 5 elementary schools. Yet these officers have little to no specialized training, follow no standard protocol, and aren't monitored for their impact on our students. This policy creates a fearful school climate for our kids and leads to arrests for minor misbehavior that could be handled by school staff. Share YOUR perspective on how our community can EDUCATE NOT INCARCERATE our kids.
